News/July 2017

We’re looking for people to test early prototypes for our upcoming project which looks at the way museums interact with their visitors.

The project, which is currently in development, is part of a three-year European project focusing on the way the public can experience and enjoy exhibitions in new ways.

Blast Theory and The Mixed Reality Lab from the University of Nottingham, are running a series of tests at Brighton Museum to help us with the development of the project.

We will be running five different tests over three days which involve making or receiving a ‘gift’, or recommendation, of what to see in the museum’s collection.

Testing Details

Test1: One To One Test – People Who Know Each Other

Tuesday 25th July 10am to 1pm

For this test we are looking for people to come in a pair with someone they know fairly well – a close friend, family member or a close work colleague.

Test 2: Group Test – People Who Know Each Other

Tuesday 25th July 2pm to 5pm

For this test we need people to come in a group of at least four people who know each other fairly well. You might be close friends, family members, or close work colleagues. You can be a group larger than four but it must be an even number.

Test 3: Remote Test – For People Who Know Each Other

Wednesday 26th July 10am – 1pm

For this test we are looking for people to come along as a pair who are happy to do a test as if they were at home, looking through the museum’s collection online with a person in mind that you would like to make a museum experience for. This test will take place in the museum and we need people to be close friends, family or close work colleagues.

Test 4: One To One Stranger Test – People Who Don’t Know Each Other

Thursday 27th July 10am – 1pm

For this test we are looking for individuals who would like to make a gift for someone they don’t know at all. You could be anyone who is curious, who loves Brighton Museum, or testing, or Blast Theory or Nottingham University or none of these things.

Test 5: One To One Stranger Group Test – People Who Don’t Know Each Other

Thursday 27th July 2pm – 5pm

For this test we need people who are happy to take part in a group with people you’ve not met before.  You could be anyone who is curious, who loves Brighton Museum or testing or Blast Theory or Nottingham University or none of these things, but ideally you are someone who likes groups.

All tests will take place at Brighton Museum.
