Ben Moren is a Minneapolis based media artist working at the intersection of filmmaking, performance, and software / hardware development. He is working on projects that investigate the gaps between our increasingly digital existence and the unmediated natural world. He received a BFA in Multimedia Environments from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design before pursuing an MFA in Experimental and Media Arts at the University of Minnesota. He has created mobile locative cinema and mixed reality projects for the Northern Spark Festival: Nuit Blanche Twin Cities in Minnesota, USA and Kulturpark in Berlin, Germany. His residency will focus on the creation of a new mobile device app and corresponding project that combines media with public and gathered location data to facilitate the rapid development of mixed reality experiences.
