A live transmission from the streets of Manchester.

Performer in My Neck Of The Woods, 2013

Let me show you around, across town, through my favourite café, out of the back door and into my neighbourhood.

We might end up in my best friend’s house, unearthing some secrets about me, or on the back seat of a bus sharing our most embarrassing moments that have happened there.

In a city you may know or have heard of, in a filmed conversation, we may get closer but just when we start to feel close, I will pass the camera, the stream onto someone else.

To take part you go online and choose from 3 people’s streams – through whose eyes do you want to see the city? Which of their questions most chimes with you? Who do you want to talk to?

My Neck Of The Woods was created by Blast Theory in partnership with the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Truth about Youth programme, supported by the Co-operative Foundation.

My Neck Of The Woods is part of Digital Voices, a collaboration between Blast Theory, The Patching Zone and Translocal with the support of the cultural programme of the European Union.

This project is the step child of You Get Me: where games and conversation meet.
