News/July 2014

Ju Row Farr will be leading a Blast Theory: Storytelling and Interdisciplinary Practice Masterclass at the West Yorkshire Theatre Network on Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th July.

Building out and around from some of the recent projects of Blast Theory and some projects in development about live streaming and story telling, the workshop will look at structuring and creating for challenging/complex projects using live streaming, location, narrative and filming.

How can you use filming as a live component in your work? How can you merge location, narrative and the live together into a work streamed to the internet? What can taking part, participating mean in this context? Can this feel like a meaningful dialogue? Can questions or questionnaires be used to build the arc of a work?

Examples of projects we may look at include I’d Hide You, My Neck Of The Woods, Ivy4Evr, A Machine To See With and Ulrike and Eamon Compliant.

The workshop will be practical and generate material, strategies and practical ideas which are transferrable to other contexts.

When: Saturday 12th July and Sunday 13th July, 10am – 5pm

Where: West Yorkshire Theatre Network, 33 Bond Street Leeds, LS1 5BQ
