We Made Ourselves Over

We have extended the deadline to find our next Business Director to Friday 27th March,10am.

We are looking for an ambitious, effective and inspiring leader to join the team at this exciting and pivotal point in the company’s history.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting a new challenge, with an inspiring outlook to support the artists as they create new work. You will be supported by a brilliant and nurturing team, enabling you to take a leading role in securing new partnerships, commissions and collaborations; driving the company’s finance and communications strategies.

Where we’re going

After a five-year period of intensive work on ever larger projects – Karen, My One Demand, Operation Black Antler, 2097: We Made Ourselves Over, Bloodyminded, Spit Spreads Death: The Parade, GIFT – the artists are taking time in 2020 to reflect and develop new ideas. For nine months, we will shift focus to learn new skills, investigate new ideas and develop small test versions of possible future works. This exciting phase of creative development is – in part – made possible by money from the Nam June Paik Art Center Award that we received in 2016; we’ve been patiently waiting for this moment! We are in a strong financial position and will be drawing on our healthy reserves this year to allow time for this development, and to create and nurture ambitious partnerships for future years, setting our sights on an exciting project of scale for 2022.

About you

You might be a freelance Producer looking for more stability. You might be a strategist for a large corporate seeking a left-field challenge. You might have worked in film development and have visions for how Blast Theory can expand in that area. You might be none of the above.

We do not expect you to have experience in all aspects of the job specification, perhaps there are some of the boxes you tick and others that you do not – but are willing to get your teeth into.

We will support your professional development in areas that you are less experienced in, building your confidence and ensuring you feel part of the family here.

Equal opportunities

Blast Theory is committed to a policy of equal opportunities. We actively seek personnel that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve, welcoming applications from people of any colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, socio-economic background, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification, age or disability. We actively encourage those who are currently under-represented in the arts sector to apply.

We welcome applicants from across the globe and are able to offer financial support for relocation costs.
