During his residency, Mats Staub will continue to work on his long-term project 21 – memories of Growing Up. 21 is a collection of interviews from people about the year they turned twenty-one, exploring both personal and generational experiences. Mats transforms narrator into listener as the participants are later filmed again listening to their original story. This is then presented as a video installation.

Brighton marks the first UK city used for the project and Mats is keen to extend the project to the English-speaking world. If you are over 75 and interested in being interviewed for the project please get in touch via the Blast Theory number on 01273 413455.
