News/August 2016

We’re delighted to welcome Innocente Messey in August and Hayley Rackham in September to the Blast Theory building.

Innocente Messey graduated from London College of Fashion and is the founder of Innocente Messey™ apparel. Her first collection ‘Mobaly’ fuses 1960s MOD inspired cuts with bright, bold colours influenced by her African heritage. Describing herself as a philanthropist, humanitarian and lover of fashion, Innocente wants her designs to transpose traditional ideas of what African fashion and designs should look like.

Hayley Rackham is a recent graduate from BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts whose installations explore measurement, height and markers with regard to their strictness and their signification for where something ‘should be placed’. Setting order over what may grow naturally. She often uses domestic materials to create her work, such as carpet, to highlight it as a place of inaction.
