Uncle Roy in the limousine

Rowan Wilken from the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne has written a fascinating chapter on Uncle Roy All Around You and Rider Spoke. With reference to Roland Barthe’s theory of narrative construction he goes on to explore how these works explore technology as a facilitator and constructor of community. He concludes “it is thus possible to read Blast Theory’s work as exploring and testing new and future communicative terms of (and for) engagement between strangers.” Rowan has kindly agreed to share the paper and it is available to download from our Research Materials page.
