2097 film still

The future is here.

You can now watch the first of five short science-fiction films online and in the 2097: We Made Ourselves Over app.

It’s 2097 and the days of upheaval are over. A new resilience has taken hold.

Eternal Data is the first of five short science-fiction films. A girl from the future is calling and she needs your help. Hessa one of three rulers who have decided once and for all to end inequality. In this world, locusts are farmed in balloons overhead and when you die you bequeath your consciousness to another person. New technology allows all matter to be harvested at a molecular level and reused. Hessa has risked everything for herself, her family and her city.

Every Saturday in October, we will be releasing the next new film, alongside a companion interactive app episode for smartphones. Placing you at the centre of the story, the app gives you the chance to talk to the future rulers of the city and tell them your hopes for 2097. Just search ‘2097 We Made Ourselves Over‘ in the Google Play or Apple App store.

Spanning two cities – Hull and Aarhus – 2097: We Made Ourselves Over combines five short sci-fi films, interactive storytelling and face to face experiences to make 2097 our most ambitious project to date.

Watch the first film online now and download the app on the 2097 website.
