Joe Ryan is a game designer based in Bristol, UK. Having designed both video games and interactive performances he now looks to explore ways in which narrative and player decisions can create meaningful and immersive experiences.
Having recently finished a NESTA funded mobile app project that promoted dance in unusual places with Pavilion Dance South West, Mobile Pie and the University of the West of England he is now looking to develop two different mobile app projects over the course of the residency.
He would like to develop a game using a new type of controller that he has built specifically for the Oculus Rift and an interactive street game that uses geo-locative technology in a visceral and exciting parody on a popular video game title.
During his residency Joe tested out an early iteration of his street game, watch an interivew with Joe featuring footage from the test with the Blast Theory team.
