Sarah Burrell

Ex Artists’ Assistant

Sarah graduated with first class distinction from Massey University (Wellington, New Zealand) in 2011 with a Masters of Design specialising in participatory performance. Since graduating she has worked among many areas within art and design; lecturing in Spatial Design at Massey University while also pursuing her own practice in exhibition, installation, and pervasive performance.

Hidden Cities is the home of her art practice, which centers on live interactive events. These take the form of performances, urban games, sound installations, alternative city tours and audio walks. The aim of her work is to involve participants in uncovering new relationships with their everyday surroundings. She has also produced collaborative works with NZ sound designer Andrew Simpson under the name LudiCity.

Since leaving Blast Theory Sarah has relocated to New York City to pursue her career within the pervasive arts scene.
