The Residency Programme is aimed at people working in similar fields of research and practice to Blast Theory. We are interested in residents who will engage with the work of Blast Theory. This can either be at an informal level or at a deeper level with potential collaboration and partnership.
Blast Theory encourages debate and exchange with residents. The company is happy to provide mentoring and advice and to provide insights into the companys history, practice, research & development activities, working methods and artistic structure.
Residents are able to present work in progress to Blast Theory and invited guests. Showings can be tailored and focused on individual needs. Residents are required to write a report and summary of their residency, which may be published on Blast Theory’s website.
The Residency Programme is managed by Blast Theory who undertakes the upkeep and maintenance of the building. We ask that residents pay a nominal fee of £100 per week to cover these maintenance costs. Blast Theory runs a bursary scheme that may be available to residents to offset the maintenance cost. If you wish to apply for a bursary please outline your reason on the application. Priority will be given to full time artists on low income.
