Long time Blast Theory collaborator and associate artist Sheila Ghelani is in residence with us again for the beginning of June.

Originally trained as a dancer Sheila creates solo and collaborative work which spans Live Art / Performance practice. Her work has been described as ‘a mash up of ‘stuff’ – of high art, low art, tinsel, objects, glitter, kitsch, food stuffs, sentimentality, words, movement, anecdote, pop song and so on and so on – grown out of a mixture of concept, affordability, instinct, accident. Underlying all of this is a desire to interrogate and reposition notions that exist around race and gender (amongst other things).
