Sigrún will reflect on her practice as a visual artist and musician. She will talk about earlier work leading up to her residency at Blast Theory and share parts of her ongoing research (and why on earth she got so interested in a sport she knew nothing about).

The interactive opera Skjóta has been taking form since she arrived in January 2023. It talks about halftime in football as a metaphor for a potential game plan preventing a climate catastrophe and how the unity of football culture can hopefully help spread solidarity.

The work reflects on the jeopardy of stepping out of ‘halftime’ to take action the same as when it comes to action against the rising heat and sea level.
