Volunteer Vanessa Santos

We are thrilled to welcome our new volunteer, Vanessa Santos.

Vanessa was born in Brazil but is living in Spain, where she is doing a PhD at Pompeu Fabra University. She is researching narratives and locative media and has selected some of Blast Theory’s projects as case studies. These projects include Rider SpokeFixing PointA Machine to See With and I Like Frank.

She is a MSc in “Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media” and has recently been working in a European Commission FP7 funded project, combining basic science research, technology innovation and high impact user research methods to develop an augmented reality based system to improve humans’ abilities to process information, and experience and understand large, complex data sets in a museum context.

Vanessa has professional experience working on documentation of free software for multimedia production; social networks and technological inclusion of minorities groups; teaching methods and training processes in audiovisual production. Her expertise and interests are in audiovisual, narratives, interactive media, mobile applications.

With qualifications that make us green with envy, we are excited to have Vanessa working with us on some exciting projects until the end of May.
